Reflexology

What is Reflexology?

Reflexology is a natural therapy based on the discovery that there are points on the feet that correspond to organs and systems within the body.  It involves using the thumbs and fingers to apply pressure on the feet and in some cases the hands.  The feet mirror the body in that the toes represent the head and neck, the balls of the feet represent the chest, lung and shoulder, the upper part of the arch the diaphragm to waist area, the lower part of the arch the waist to pelvic area, the heel the pelvic area/sciatic nerve, the inner foot the spine, the outer foot the arm, shoulder, hip, leg knee and lower back and the ankle represents the pelvic area and reproductive organs.

When there is an imbalance in the body the corresponding area, otherwise known as a reflex point in the foot may be tender or painful.  Working over these ares may help to break down and rid the body of toxins to a more balanced state.  this helps to encourage the free flow of energy throughout the body.
